Also, everyone who owns Photoshop HAS TO also own NikSofts' Define plug in. It will chance your life forever! Especially if you are one of those people who needs to jump into wicked high ISO ranges.

Photoshop Tuts?

So I was thinking the last few days...

I no longer wish to tear out my own neck with my shaved-bone fingers, in a bloody cacophony of hatred and depression whenever I see a camera or Photoshop... In face I am enjoying taking pictures again, and shopping them.

I also realized that most of the tuts on the net, for Photoshop, are for strange crap, or fixing small things in a photo... But none of them show you just how to use Photoshop, or elaborate on what certain tools do, and why they are different from all the other ones.

So I was thinking I could fill this niche, that is if people actually would want to see something like that.

My question is: You guys think I should do that?

Some Shopped things!

These are some old Photo I found and Shopped.  The Giraffe was in IR and needed a lot of work, and the Fey is a small model I bought and shot outside, then shopped to look like that.  I was going to try to make it look "real" but I actually like it being "fakeish."

Even though no one cares...

I will still post here, simply saying:

In the last many... many... MANY months, I have not taken any photos, and the ones I have, are, to be short, appalling and terrible in their totality.

I have tried, desperately to take good photos, and simply can not. I have not been able to do anything creative. My mind mulls the same lines, over and over, never changing, never growing.

So, I suppose my muse grew bord with me, and has ether committed suicide, as my quote would suggest, or, perhaps, entered menopause, and thus, no more sex-drive, and thus, no more power.

Regardless, if, and (hopefully) when I take more pictures that are worthy of showing the light of day, this will be the place I place them.

They totally suck, but I feel I should post them anyway, as that was probably the last great storm of the season.

More Lightening in the day.

Below are two photos, shot during the day from the same camera, in the same place, of the same storm. The first is HEAVILY Photoshopped. I had to crop the photo, then adjust the Levels to bring out the lightening in frame, then enhance the colors, then change their hue to make it easier to see and smooth out the color, then add a Soft Light Layer to smooth the color out. If I hadn't done all that, you would have only seen a bright white line in the sky. The second is photoshopped, however: I cropped the photo, then changed the Levels on an Adjustment layer, then masked off the lightening, enhancing the contrast of the lightening. As you can see by the ground, it is about 6:00pm Mnt. time.

Anyway, I enjoy capturing lightening during the day.

WARNING: Don't do this unless you are willing to run a VERY large number of cycles on your camera. I shot about 1,000 photos, and only two had any lightening in them worth showing off. Each frame was from ether 3 seconds or 1 second. This type of photography puts a MASSIVE strain on the camera, just remember that. Also, shooting lightening during the day can be very dangerous as you can see the flashing of lightening further off, or lightening that could be coming your way.

WTF? Color Digital IR sucks.

Alright, I was out last night shooting lightening. Unfortunately I missed any strikes with my IR camera, but I did get some great shots of clouds... The thing is... for some reason, my camera saw Purple in the clouds, not blue, like it should have. The following two photos are my favorite, and all I have done is Unsharppen Mask, then Saturate\Vibrance the colors. I did not add any, only enhance the ones that were already there... and when I did... What the hell? CDIR Photography is a fickle mistress.

Pikes Peak in IR

I know this is a crappy photo of Pikes Peak, especially in IR, but I hadn't uploaded anything recently, so I picked this one out. Hopefully better stuff is to follow.

And here is the proof. It sucks compared to other stuff I have done, and even worse compared to stuff other people have done. But I shot this photo at 4:00PM in the afternoon.
